God is good, always, and following Him brings deep joy to the soul.
What He requires is good, always, and if we obey He brings deep transformation.
What he allows is good, always and brings maturity on a scale we never imagined.
Where He leads is good, always, and where we go His goodness follows.
All the days of our life, where he leads, what He allows, and what He requires is rarely easy. From time to time there will be seasons He will make us lie down in green pastures. If He didn’t make us I suppose we would rush right past ignoring the soft grass and the cool still waters of His presence, the only thing with the power to restore our souls. In the leading and allowing and requiring we discover how much we truly need Him. And, how much the world needs us to follow.
Change is Good
A big change is on the horizon for Mike and I and it’s good but it isn’t going to be easy. After 20 years of living in Florida, we have sold our house and are moving to Atlanta at the end of April. Franny and Matt are there and our grandson Eli and our granddaughter -to-be. They own our hearts and the time has come to pull up our stakes and move our tent north.
The task of sorting through twenty years of accumulated stuff and then packing it all is daunting. The finances are daunting. Abandoning our way of life and the familiarity of knowing where everything is, is daunting. Saying goodbye to lifelong friends is the most daunting of all. But God continually reminds us in the way all the little details keep falling into place that He is good and He is leading, allowing and requiring this.
He will make our paths straight and the road smooth and when we are all unpacked and moved in, surrounded by precious loved ones, we will find rest for our souls.
